Dear Cheryl,
Congratulations on your own recovery! May God continue growing you in His grace and truth, giving you strength to be all He has created you to be. (I love how you signed off: "His prisoner now". How beautiful!)
Your reaching out to ex-offenders is a wonderul and noble mission. So many are disoriented and distrusted and have no where to go. I think this act of grace fulfills Jesus' command in Matthew 25:35-37.
Satan doesn't want to lose the grip he has on these ladies, so he will be fighting their rehabilitaion every step of the way. (See Ephesians 6:12.) Betrayal and disappointment are surely some of his weapons. Just remember that Christ knows the pain of betrayal, and I'm sure He is often disappointed in our own behavior. Rest secure in His arms while He carries you through this difficult time.
Let's pray:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for the victory You've given Cheryl, and thank You for the ministry You've entrusted to her. I pray for perspective - Your perspective in this situation. Help her see with Your eyes and continue loving with Your heart even though it may be difficult now. Enable her to forgive these girls and to not give up on other young women who may truly need and appreciate her help.Cheryl and I both believe in Your awesome power to change lives, and that is what we're asking for. May Your Spirit move in a powerful way through Maggie's Home. May it be convicting, transforming, and encouraging to each resident. I pray especially for these two girls who have abused Cheryl's trust and generosity. Draw them to Yourself. Reconcile all involved by Your mercy and grace. In light of what has happened, show Cheryl if there are any policy changes she needs to make in regards to Maggie's Home. Cleary reveal to her Your plan for this ministry and abundantly bless it. Give her strength and wisdom for the days ahead.
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen
