Never Ending Depression

Dear Friend,

Don't give up and don't lose heart. Of course I'll be praying for you, as will the other mentors on the board, but I want to encourage you to find someone around you - a Godly friend, a parent, a trusted adult - that you can talk to. I'm sure there are some things going on in your life that are contributing to your depression, and you need someone to talk those things over with.

Here's a link to an article I wrote on depression. (Click here.) I believe it will give you something to hold on to during this difficult time.

Things may seem dark to you right now, but God's light is there, shining on you even when you can't see it. He loves you more than you can possibly imagine. Grab hold of His hand.

Dear Jesus,I want to pray for this dear one who is sad and depressed. Please lift her out of this slimy pit, out of the mud and mire. Set her feet on You, The Rock, giving her a firm place to stand. (Psalm 40:1-3) Put a new song in her mouth, a hymn of praise to You. Send one of Your servants to be Your hands, feet, love, and encouragement to this dear one. Lead her out of this darkness into Your wonderful light. Give her joy in Your presence. (Psalm 16:11)I ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen

Dear Friend,Even as you call out to Jesus, claim His promises, and hold tight to His hand, make sure you are eating healthy foods, getting enough rest, and exercising. Taking good care of your body pleases God and can help you feel better.
